Samsung announces Galaxy S Light Luxury, a Galaxy S8 Lite for the Chinese market

While Samsung has been rather wise with its ranges of smartphones in recent years, he no longer hesitates to multiply, even to lose a little customers. The Korean manufacturer has just unveiled the Galaxy S Light Luxury, a simple Galaxy S8 whose data sheet has been lightened.

Despite the release of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy A8, Samsung obviously does not want to give up the Galaxy S8. The Korean smartphone manufacturer has announced the arrival of a certain Galaxy S Light Luxury at night. If the images of the device remind you of something, it’s normal, this new smartphone fully takes the design of the Galaxy S8 (including the strange placement of the fingerprint sensor back and the button Bixby), but sees its technical sheet degreased.

The same smartphone, but with a less powerful processor

The Galaxy S8 Lite, since that’s what it is, is a device with a screen in the format 18.5: 9 definition Full HD + (against QHD + on the Galaxy S8) and trading his Snapdragon 835 against a Snapdragon 660 (a mid-range chip) associated with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. It still retains water and dust-tightness (IP 68), its facial recognition system with the iris scanner, wireless charging and the 3000 mAh battery. And it is installed on Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Galaxy S Light Luxury is currently only for the Chinese market. It will be marketed there for 3999 yuan (about 531 euros) and available in red and black. We do not know yet if Samsung plans to launch this new smartphone in Europe.
