Windows 10: Install .NET Framework 3.5 (SP1)

Some software, such as SQL Server, requires the prior installation of the .NET Framework 3.5 component. The 3.5 package will also install versions 2.0 and 3.0. This page presents a way to install this feature on a Windows 10 machine. This method is the simplest and complicated but works every time.

This NET Framework component is required to install Microsoft software, such as Windows Live Mail, Movie Maker, SQL Server …

Install .NET Framework 3.5 (SP1) on Windows 10

1. Insert the DVD, USB key or load the ISO of the installation of Windows 10 :

2. Open a Command Prompt as Administrator :

3. Execute the command:

<< DISM /online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /Source:D:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess >>

==> Note: Replace the D:\ with the DVD drive for the mounted iso

Here are the details of the command line parameters given above:

/ Online targets the operating system running.
/ Enable-Feature / FeatureName: NetFx3 specifies that .NET Framework 3.5 must be installed / enabled.
/ All enables all the parent features of the .NET Framework 3.5.
/ LimitAccess prevents DISM from contacting Windows Update.
/ Source specifies the location of the necessary files.

I hope this helps and solves your problem easily. This post is for Windows 10, but the same thing should also work for Windows 8, 8.1 (and even 7 maybe).
